Abran Cunningham is 24 years old. He is married with no children. Below is an interview taken from deftones.net.

Were you in any bands previous to the Deftones? The Deftones was the first band we ever had.I left for a year or two to play in a different band, Fallacy- it was trippy, deep shit, really good- but things didn't work out with their drummer and I always filled in when they needed it and it was always so much fun to be back, so for the past six years, I've been back in.

What's the first record you bought/remember hearing? Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side of the Monn'. I was three and the speakers my parents has were taller than me, but I would always go for that same record, pull it out and then go to the speakers and hold on to them. That's the first one I remember.

Who was the first band you saw live? Probaly Corsby, Stills, and Nash with my parents, something like that.

What is your favorite Madonna song? 'Papa Don't Preach.'

Did you always want to be in a band? Yeah, my Dad and my Step-dad were musicians, so from my first memories, I was crawling around on the floor at their gigs. I always wanted to play guitar. I play a little bit, but my Step-dad played drums and I was always fascinated by what it felt like and that there's so many things you can do with them.

What's the worst day job you've had to do to pay the rent? I've always worked at restaurants, either as a busboy or waiter, but mostly as a cook. I had some of the best times and some of the worst times.

Have you ever been invloved in a petty crime? Basically, vandalism, bricks through windows, whatever. I was arrested once and charged, but more as a scare thing. Everything else I get away with- I'm too sly.

What do you think of the current music scene in California? Over here, they pay alot of attention to the bands from California, there always seem to be the new thing coming out. There's alot of really good bands coming out. We're from Northern California and alot of those bands are from Southern California. It's a trip though, man.

What are your memories of your first Deftones gig? It was great, we were in high school at the time, so we were like 16/17. It was a small club, maybe 300 or 400 people, but it was packed, all our friends from school, and it was like, 'Wow! We're actually playing a club!' I was always a kid going to watch shows. There's been good ones and bad ones since then, though.

What band would you most like to tour with? We've already toured with alot of people. Touring with Bad Brains was a honor- it was one of our first national tours of the States and there was so much wisdom they passed on to us. Plus that band is pretty close to my heart.

Who do you think is the most heavy metal band of all time? Iron Maiden- I love Iron Maiden.

Is there a band you would leave the Deftones to join if they asked? I've left before, but I came back. We've been doing it for so long now, I think this s where we belong. I don't think I can do it again, we're too close. This chemistry we have is what brought us so far.

Do you skate? Not as much as I should or used to- it used to be my life, skateboarding and music. I still putter around and always want to get back into it, cos I miss it. It was a grwat part of my life.

Do you follow sports? I was never much into them as kids- I played soccer, I loved soccer- but as I get older, I can watch a baseball game or a baseketball game and get badass. It's wild to see someone

What's your favorite drink? Beer. I love beer. Beer is beautiful. Captain Morgan rum too. Rum and OJs- it sounds weird, but Captain Morgan, of all rums, mixes right.

Do you have any hobbies aside from music? I love to cook, I love to have a good time. Just traveling is beautiful.

What's your favorite TV show? I have too many favorites of everything... (tongue in cheek) McGuyer. No, man, I don't know.

Who's the most fanciable woman in the world? Winona Ryder's beautiful. I love all women.

If your house burned down, what one item would you risk your life to save? My Dad's bass. He passed away when I was young and I have his bass, an old '62 Fender P-bass.
