Were you in any bands previous to the Deftones? No, not really.

What's the first record you bought/remember hearing? Probably and Iron Maiden- it could have been any of them.

Who was the first band you saw live? Probably Iron Maiden- I caught one of the shows that they taped for the 'Live After Death' album. I was an Iron Maiden freak when I was a kid, I love them. I still think any bass player, my age, who says Steve Harris isn't an influence is a liar.

What is your favorite Madonna song? 'Live to Tell'

Did you always want to be in a band? Not like signed or anything- I always wanted to play music, but I never thought about being in a signed band or being a star.

What's the worst day job you've had to do to pay the rent? Cleaning out skimmmers from the Valdez oil spill- working with crude oil is the worst day job ever, it's disgusting.

Have you ever been invloved in a petty crime? I got put on probation when I was 13 for fighting.

What do you think of the current music scene in California? It seems good, I guess. I don't listen to heavy music, so if that's the style of music, I guess it's doing good.

What are your memories of your first Deftones gig? I thought it was great to be in front of kids, to be on stage instead of being in the crowd.

What band would you most like to tour with? Bob Marley.

Who do you think is the most heavy metal band of all time? Christ-Accept.

Is there a band you would leave the Deftones to join if they asked? Nope.

Do you skate? No- I'm too Asian!

Do you follow sports? Nope.

What's your favorite drink? Scotch- single malt McCallum's with a touch of water.

Do you have any hobbies aside from music? All sorts of stuff- writing poetry, Buddhism...

What's your favorite TV show? I don't watch too much TV, probably SEINFELD.

What's your favorite movie? Mystery Train.

What/who is your favorite book/author? Suzuki's Zen Mind Beginner Mind.

Who's the most fanciable woman in the world? My old lady. Anyone famous? She's famous to me. I'm her biggest fan. Anyone else? I don't know if I've ever thought about it. I know- that girl from the Fugees, Lauren.

If your house burned down, what one item would you risk your life to save? My Wife and Kid, that's it.
